Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how Clearlake Carwash handles cancellations, refunds, and billing disputes for our monthly car wash subscriptions. It is part of our Terms of Service, which you agreed to when you signed up.

1. Subscription Model

Clearlake Carwash charges a recurring monthly fee in advance for continued access to unlimited car washes via your RFID sticker. Each billing period is a full calendar month from the date of the charge.

2. No Refunds for Partial Months

Because our subscription grants unlimited access for the full billing period on the date of each charge, we do not provide prorated or partial refunds for unused days within a paid month. This is standard practice for unlimited-use subscription services.

When you cancel, access continues through the end of the billing period that has already been paid for, and you will not be charged again.

3. How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time, for any reason, without speaking to anyone:

  1. Sign in to your account at /account.
  2. Open the Manage Subscription link, which takes you to the secure Stripe customer portal.
  3. Click Cancel Subscription. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

You can also cancel directly from your Clearlake Carwash account page by clicking Cancel Subscription on the vehicle you want to stop. We will display the date your access ends.

4. After Cancellation

  • Your access continues until the end of your current paid billing period.
  • Your RFID sticker is automatically deactivated when your paid period ends.
  • You can resubscribe at any time. A new sticker may be issued, and a replacement fee may apply.

5. When We Will Issue a Refund

We will issue a refund, or prorated credit at our discretion, in the following situations:

  • Duplicate charges: If you were charged twice for the same billing period due to a billing error.
  • Unauthorized charges: If your payment method was charged without your authorization (for example, someone else subscribed using your card). Contact us immediately and also notify your bank.
  • Extended service outage: If our car wash facilities are unavailable for seven (7) or more consecutive days during your billing period for reasons within our control, you may request a prorated credit for the affected days on your next invoice.
  • Billing error: If you were charged the wrong amount due to a mistake on our part.

We do not refund on the basis of non-use, forgetting to cancel, changes of mind, weather, vehicle damage unrelated to the wash, or failure to read these Terms.

6. How to Request a Refund

Email contact@clearlakecarwash.com within 60 days of the charge with:

  • The email address on your Clearlake Carwash account;
  • The date and amount of the charge in question;
  • The last four digits of the card used, if you still have that information;
  • A short description of the reason for the request.

We will review your request and respond within five (5) business days. If approved, refunds are issued back to the original payment method and typically appear on your statement within ten (10) business days, depending on your bank.

7. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first. Filing a chargeback with your bank without first giving us a chance to resolve the issue may result in immediate suspension of your subscription and deactivation of your RFID sticker, and we may dispute the chargeback if we believe it is unfounded. Once we resolve the issue with you directly, most refund requests are handled within a few business days without any bank involvement.
